Tony has been involved with
Cavaliers since 1993 when his eldest son joined the club. He became
assistant manager of the 1996 Under 13's and later that year was elected
to the committee. In 1997 he took over from Ted Moore as the Under 14's
manager for one season.
In 1999 he was elected Vice
Chairman of the club and became Cavaliers academy coach. The successful
academy produced two sides for the Under 9's 2000/2001 season and Tony
was the manager of Cavaliers U9's Flyers. Two games into the season the
Under 9's Rockets manager resigned and Tony managed both sides for the
next two years.
In 2002 Derek Gurney
took over as manager of Cavaliers Rockets into 11-a-side football on
Saturday's and Tony managed the Under 11's Sunday side. He was elected
treasurer of the club for the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons. He also was
part of the organising committee for Cavaliers annual 5-a-side
tournament from 2001 to 2004.
He resigned as treasurer
and committee member at the 2005 AGM due to work commitments, but
remains manager of the Under 14's and is responsible for Cavaliers
